Anne Manyak, founder and executive director of Chantress Jewelry, has embraced art, design, and color as integral elements of her personal and professional identity as far back as she can remember. "My first inspiration came from my mother’s gardens, which were filled with enchantment and beauty. I would pick flower petals and leaves, open up seedpods and examine their varying sizes, shapes, and colors, and combined them together to make new designs." This affinity with small, colorful, delicate pieces of nature translated into an early love of beads and jewelry, an interest that grew into a passion as early as her teen years. The Academy of Art College in San Francisco first recognized her notable artistic talent and granted her a scholarship for her elegant and original photography. There, she honed her natural gift for design, color, and fashion into an impressive skill set, and pursued a professional career with a San Francisco based modeling agency. During her career as a fashion photographer, Anne worked with such personalities as actress, Daphne Zuniga, and European models, Minhee and Ellie. "It was an exciting time in my life, filled with potential and creativity." As she juggled her multifaceted career, her education, and the raising of her daughter, Tashina Alice, Anne's love for jewelry remained a constant in her life. This love found its voice as she shifted her creative energies into the conceptualization of Chantress Jewelry. With the founding of Chantress, Anne is delighted to be back in her mother’s garden creating jewelry that inspires, enchants, and empowers. Tashina Alice Manyak has followed in her mother's footsteps with her innate talent for color and design, and has taken pleasure in collaborating with her mother at Chantress Jewelry. "Tashina excels in transforming the plain into the exotic, unifying the disparate into an integrated and pleasing whole, and bringing every minuscule detail into harmony," Anne explains. From the early age of 18, Tashina has had an interest in the unique beauty of exotic cultures and has spent extensive time in South America including Sao Paulo, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Santiago, Chile, and Montevideo, Uruguay. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has made the influences of other cultures a part of Chantress' trademark look. Tashina is Chantress’ executive marketing and advertising director, which provides a forum for her to share her love of expression and originality.
